Who do you work for?

Do you mean who is my employer? Well maybe but not really. Depends on who your ultimate employer is. Some jobs can really be a burden, and a real drain. Anyone who is reading this right now can probably sympathize with that statement. Some people haul trash, clean-up raw sewage, and the list goes on. How can you have the right mentality and make it each day regardless of the job? That depends on whether your ultimate employer is God or Man. If you have the mentality that your working for your boss or yourself I personally don't think that you can really get the most out of the work that is here for you on this earth. On the other hand if you do you work for your heavenly Father no matter what you do its purposes are above comprehension.

A couple of scriptures to verify my point come from the book of Colossians. Col 3:17 "And whatever you do in word of deed, do all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Jesus the mediator is another example in this verse, but I must stay on course. Again almost repeated in the same chapter Paul writes Col 3:23 "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.". I don't think I could illustrate that any clearer than straight from the word of God.

Sometimes work can really be a chore and we are not really sure why the Lord has us in this position or in this job. I can sympathize very much right now with this entry, but I know what I must do. First, pray that you would follow His will and not yours (who can know the mind of God?). Second, realize that if you have been praying and nothing has opened up that the Lord may have something for you that you haven't learned yet. And finally, no matter how much you hate your job or your dislike your boss. Remember who you work for!!!
